For most of Vanessa Rose’s hairdressing career she has served as an educator. As a platform artist for Graham Webb and Color Educator for Framesi USA, Vanessa had the opportunity to hone her creative and technical skills and bring them back to her team. She was Director of Education for “Le Shoppe Salons” and “Christie Adam” before opening Maude Salon in 2003.
With a commitment to education, Vanessa, along with her partners, has personally trained every member of the Maude Squad. Maude is an award winning salon featured as Redken Salon of the Year, and mentioned numerous times by Salon Today Top 200 in culture, philanthropy, and education. Maude Academy continues to attract and grow young talent through its apprenticeship program and its Blossom Finishing School. Vanessa is on the Board of Advisors for Paul Mitchell The School and The Aveda Institute Washington, D.C. She is a guest artist, regularly speaking to up and coming students in the industry. In 2011, Vanessa launched her own coaching program “Joyful Chair” . She has bottled her experience from 25+ years of working behind a hairdresser’s chair, into a program that helps other hairdressers find joy, recovery, and financial gain once they have become a certified “Chairapist”.
